âI like to think our guys are in great shape,â Smart said this week. âWe’ve been working really hard over the last three to four weeks. We’ve taken shifts and worked really hard, look forward to this coming, much like you do when you have a triple option. So we work in shifts to practice that. , to work on our replacement patterns so that we can replace our players. This is something that we do constantly. We did it during the week off. We did a few shifts each week to make sure we are there But like I said on Monday, there’s nothing you can really do to make sure you’re ready for that kind of pace of play. It’s almost impossible to simulate in your practice. So a lot of it is knowledge, understanding, and we want our guys to be able to do that, we want our guys to be able to play fast and execute.
