Polaroid unveils first Bluetooth speakers with new radio service

Polaroid is entering the music space with its colorful new line of music products. After more than 80 years of working at the intersection of art and science, creating products that inspire and empower creativity, Polaroid brings its energy and spirit to music. Polaroid Music includes four dynamic Polaroid Bluetooth® music players, an experimental music discovery service called Polaroid Radioand the Polaroid Music app.

“Great musicians and photographers capture what we can’t always express in words. They make us feel. We’re new to the world of music, but we want to bring as much color and emotion into the space as possible. We are excited about this new chapter while still being as committed to instant photography as ever.” Oskar Smolokowski, president of Polaroid, said.

The four Polaroid Players adopt the design language of the iconic brand: they are playful, expressive and designed for joy and humanity. There’s the smallest and most portable Polaroid P1, the most portable Polaroid P2, the iconic boombox-shaped Polaroid P3 and the most powerful Polaroid P4 – powerful portable speakers with a retro-futuristic feel .

The classic red button is a nod to the heritage of instant photography and its famous red camera shutter release. The player’s analog dial is specially designed to change Polaroid radio stations without picking up a phone. This adds an analog experience, making Polaroid Players more tactile objects than simple smartphone extensions.

Polaroid Radio is the heart and soul of Polaroid players and is available to all music lovers on the web or through the Polaroid Music app. In a world of algorithms, Polaroid puts radio back in the hands of real people: artists, DJs and creators with curated stations featuring up-and-coming tunes as well as old favourites. It is an experimental version of Internet radio. Five ever-changing, human-curated FM-like stations that are free and ad-free. Like five sound worlds, without pausing, skipping or rewinding.

Polaroid Radio is available on the web at radio.polaroid.com or through the Polaroid Music app in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, in Portugal and Austria for launch, other territories coming soon.

Polaroid readers are available at Polaroid.com and at retailers worldwide in a selection of colors inspired by the Polaroid color spectrum. The P2 and P3 models are also available exclusively in gray on Polaroid.com.
