Your Harrogate radio service to join the MuxCo DAB multiplex – RadioToday

Harrogate Radio Station Online Your Harrogate has signed up for a space on the DAB North Yorkshire MuxCo multiplex.

The service, which features Nick Hancock on Breakfast and Elisa Hilton on Drive, launched in March as an online station, app and smart speaker.

Former Stray presenters Pete Egerton, Will Smith, Alex Cann and David Whittle are also on the program.

Nick said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support from listeners and advertisers.

“But people keep saying ‘when will you get back to the right radio’, so we’ve moved our DAB schedule forward to DAB by February 2022.

“We need a local station like Your Harrogate because no one else is going to talk about jumble and Leadhall Lane!”

“National radio presenters are great, but they’ve never heard of St. Michael’s Hospice or the Stray Bonfire and they don’t connect with radio listeners who want to know more about Harrogate.”

Your Harrogate will be available on the North Yorkshire DAB multiplex from 3 February 2022 while station managers wait for Ofcom to announce a specific license only for Harrogate and Wetherby.

Your Harrogate director Adam Daniel said there has been a great demand for DAB: “People love Your Harrogate because it’s positive and it supports everyone in Harrogate and I think the community needs it more than ever. “

Your Harrogate was launched, along with another online station HG1 Radio, following changes to the local FM commercial station Stray FM renamed Greatest Hits Radio. HG1 Radio has since closed its doors.
